relationship with Clarkson University?

A: Beacon Institute for Rivers and Estuaries is now a subsidiary of Clarkson University and retains its 501(c)3 status as a non-profit organization.

Q: What are Beacon Institute's principal sources of support?

A: Beacon Institute receives half of its support from private donors and foundations and half from government funding.

Q: Is IBM involved with Beacon Institute in some way?

A: IBM works together with Beacon Institute and Clarkson University on the River and Estuary Observatory Network (REON). You can read more about this on the Science & Technology page of this website.

Q: What is John Cronin's role? 

A. John Cronin is the first Beacon Institute Fellow at Clarkson University, and our voice for policy issues concerning water. He is also a member of the faculty for River University. 

Q: What is your relationship with the Hudson River Sloop Clearwater?

 

A: We collaborate with our friends at the Clearwater organization during River University, where students experience hands-on learning with sails aboard the sloop.

A: We do not currently offer a formal internship program nor opportunities for summer employment.
