Beacon, New York
In Beacon
The City of Beacon provides a unique blend of attributes to support Beacon Institute's programmatic goals. Midway up the tidal Hudson, Beacon boasts transportation connections, access to deep water, a range of local housing and services opportunities, and several significant ecological habitats nearby.
The Institute's activity in Beacon is concentrated in two places: in the heart of the city at 199 Main Street and at the active Hudson River waterfront in Denning's Point State Park. Part of Hudson Highlands State Park, Denning's Point boasts accessible walking and biking paths and rich cultural and archaeological history. It is near Scenic Hudson's Long Dock property, the Dia:Beacon museum and the Metro-North train station.
